LA ATENCIÓN TEMPRANA: UNA SEGUNDA OPORTUNIDAD PARA LOS NIÑOS PREMATUROS

Resumen

Los avances científicos han conseguido elevar la tasa de supervivencia de los niños prematuros y por consiguiente cada vez son más los niños que sobreviven con una menor edad gestacional, hecho que repercute directamente en su salud y en su desarrollo. Este trabajo pretende resaltar la importantísima labor que tiene la Atención Temprana en este grupo de niños de riesgo biológico ya que es una excelente herramienta que, a través de un marco de actuación coordinado en todos los contextos en los que el niño se desarrolla, consigue la prevención y tratamiento de las consecuencias que la prematuridad revierte en el menor, la familia y el entorno.

Abstract: Scientific advances have succeeded in raising the survival rate of preterm infants and, consequently, more infants survive with a lower gestational age, which has a direct impact on their health and development. This paper aims to highlight the very important work that Early Intervention has in this group of children with biological risk, being that it is an excellent tool which, through a coordinated framework of action in all contexts in which the child develops, achieves the prevention and treatment of the consequences that prematurity reverts to the infant, the family and their environment.
